Recognising the value of social engagement, we work to build consensus via a transparent, collaborative design process.
From the way that we structure our practice to the way that we approach a design problem we are led by the human experience in everything that we do. We listen to and learn from the people that we work with, and the people that our work will serve, to ensure that our designs are framed in response to the wider social and cultural context of any design brief. Personal relationship’s structure everything that we do and so we aspire to work with people that share our core values. Though, recognising the benefit of different perspectives, we are always open to have these values challenged. The best projects that we work on are those that teach us the most.
We provide a complete service:
Define the project goals and feasibility. Understand the client’s requirements, business case, and identify key opportunities and constraints.
Develop the project brief, identifying project objectives, quality aspirations, budget, and timescale. Conduct site appraisals, surveys, and initial feasibility studies.
Create initial design concepts based on the project brief. Explore options for the overall design, including spatial arrangements and materials, and prepare outline cost plans.
Refine the design, coordinating spatial layouts, structure, and building services. Further develop design details and prepare updated cost information.
Develop the technical aspects of the design in detail, including specifications for construction and coordination with all other design specialists. Produce comprehensive technical drawings for tender and building control plan approval.
The construction phase where the project is built on site. The architect will issue construction ready information and can be engaged to monitor progress, provide quality assurance checks and a host of other services.
The project is completed and handed over to the client. This stage includes any necessary commissioning, testing, and training of the building users, as well as completing handover documents.
Post-completion stage where the building is in use. This includes post-occupancy evaluation, ongoing support for the building’s use, and maintenance advice to ensure performance standards.
A joined-up approach to problem solving.
Our practice fosters a communal and open office culture that actively promotes collective problem solving. By pooling individual perspectives, we have created an intentionally diverse approach to design and we tap into this power, of multi-dimensional problem solving, to identify and channel the most appropriate solutions through our designs.

Network
We define ourselves by the relationships we build, project to project. Every team we work with brings new strength to our network, diversifying our projects and increasing our reach as a practice.
We reject standardisation, approaching each project with fresh eyes and conducting focused appraisals to uncover unique opportunities and constraints, shaping a tailored and thoughtful response.
Understanding the brief
Every project that we work on starts with a conversation. We take the time to listen and to understand our clients brief before we commit to a project. This process is underpinned by two of our core values; inclusivity and openness. We are here to help you realise the potential of your project brief.
Building the team
Once the project brief has been drafted we can start to define our scope, understanding where our expertise lies and where other might need to be consulted. This is where we reach out to our established network of external contacts for their support, assembling a team that has the appropriate level of knowledge and expertise to deliver on your project.
Crafting the response
We then progress our designs through a series of focused appraisals and reviews, working closely with all of the relevant project stakeholders to find the most appropriate solutions. We pride ourselves on excellence, employing the very latest techniques, standards and technology to produce the information required to support the whole life-cycle of a built project.
In an ever changing world we cannot afford to stand still. We always aspire to learn and grow as a studio and, as part of this, we share our time between practice and academia. By testing and evolving our approach we ensure that our services are always informed by the very latest thinking and methods. We believe that this systemic approach is key to delivering great projects.
